The Weekly Trophy Report

The good old days of schlepping to the store and tramwaj stop had to end. On Sunday, Jeff rode the train to Warsaw and acquired a used Ford Explorer Sport to get ready for the winter and the treacherous roads up to our hilltop house. Also, snow days are no longer a dream for Megan with 205 hp and 4x4 traction...sigh. Keeping in mind that gas is about 6 dollars a gallon here (before we get the taxes back), this little SUV is not going on many long trips.

After representing us at the opening of a major local craft fair on Friday, Megan and Barbara did some shopping on Saturday and Megan acquired a toy Soviet soldier and a British-made toy chief (trophies among folk art treasure like painted wooden eggs). The flea market has fabulous old things, and I think we can probably get these two out of the country without having to apply to the Ministry of Culture. Guess who is going to have more fun with their trophy!

  1. Let's see, Jeff gets a car, Megan gets a toy soldier and an Indian chief; hey, Barb, where are the garnets? Just kidding. I like the car and the figurines; does Megan have to arm wrestle you for them, Jeff. Thinking of you. Mom, Barbara, Amah
