Bright and early on Saturday morning we set off on a Consulate language-immersion trip to Bolesławiec. Thank you Brian for organizing the trip and herding us where we needed to be -- you did a good job!
Clean bathrooms (showers also available!), picnic tables and lots of parking. But no vending machines to Megan's great consternation.
Another exciting new thing: 3-lane highway! One thing lacking is extensive signage. Especially in approaching Bolesławiec from the East because, as one of the language teachers said, to Poles it is just another small town, and they have no real reason to go there.
We missed the proper exit and by the time we figured that out were on a stretch of the A4 with no exits. Seriously. We made it almost to the German border before we could get off, turn around and head back to Bolesławiec. On a happy note, the signage is MUCH better approaching the town from the West. Apparently for all the German tourists.
Note to selves: next time either convoy with everyone else or buy a GPS system.
After navigating the seriously confusing city center we found our hotel: Hotel Piast.
It is your typical 3-star Polish hotel built in the Communist era.
Clean, quiet, friendly staff and with an excellent breakfast.

The wee art placed high up on the walls? After playing tourist (here and here) and shopping on Saturday we departed not quite so early on Sunday morning.
