Thorpeness

In October Jeff and I headed to Thorpeness at the invitation of one of my old friends and former work colleagues, John Latham. His family has had a 'cottage' at Thorpeness since the 1940s, and his parents were friends with the Ogilvies. His tales of summers spent running wild here as a child are wonderful.

Ennis had to check out the small back garden as soon as we arrived.

I swear he's smiling.

A short distance from Thorpeness is the seaside at Aldeburgh.

Ennis was not keen on the water and managed to keep Jeff between him and the water at all times.

Ennis was a pub dog and enjoyed his place by the fire after walkies on the beach.

We went for tea at John's brother's house.
Ennis enjoyed himself.

Back to The Meare where the swans rule.

Ended a lovely weekend with a blow-out on the A12 where there was no shoulder.
We love the Automobile Assocation who saved us!

Off to local tire shop to replace the tire.

Had our picnic lunch while waiting for the tire to arrive.
