We started at the Roman Forum.
Tourist tip - the ticket you buy is a combination for the Roman Forum, Palatine and Colosseum. Don't stand in line at the Colosseum to buy it since the lines are the worst there...go to the Forum or Palatine entrances and get in much much faster.
