La Serena

So, nothing much happened over Megan's winter break...Jeff's work schedule meant we weren't going anywhere and seemingly the entire expat population fled Santiago so Megan and I had a lot of down time at home...we did begin a huge purge of her room which still continues...

Jeff was able to get away for a couple of days at the end of July right before school started so we headed off to La Serena...a much hyped beach town about a 5 hour drive north of Santiago.

I-5 bay-bee!

On the drive up we saw impressive wind farms.

We had to stop on the way for...

at a shop that is famous for them.
I sadly could not partake due to that pesky Celiac issue but Megan and Jeff said they were delicious.

We went up with friends.
This is what happens when the CG and LegAtt (FBI) try to take a couple of days off.
Jeff only had to contend with his Blackberry.
Ben had to deal with his Blackberry and another phone.

We didn't do much in La Serena as we were mostly there to take a tour of the Elqui Valley.*
