We've been rather remiss about getting out and about since our arrival. Having a visitor means we finally had a reason to do so!
We visited Metropolitan Park
and saw the Japanese Garden
and rode the Funicular
(dating from 1925, a National Monument, and runs almost 500 meters on a 45 degree incline)
up to San Cristobal Hill
where there were stunning views of the city
and the Statue of the Virgin Mary
plus, given the season, a life-size wooden crèche.
