Budapest: Odds and Ends

Budapest has a fair share of lovely old buildings in need of some TLC...

It also has some not so lovely buildings:

This one reminded me of the UGLI at U of M.

Public transport is good. We rode the Metro and the trams.

The M1 line of the Metro has wonderfully Victorian stations...unfortunately my camera battery died before I could manage a shot. So you have to go here.

The street signs have numbers on them. How convenient!

We had lunch at Iguana Bar and Grill. It was the closest we've had to real Mexican food in Central and Eastern Europe.

Megan enjoyed her quesadilla - it really was bigger than her head.

Dessert at our hotel included cheesecake which came with fresh, homemade nectarine sorbet.

Oh my God.

It was amazing...
