Oh wait, that's the "Internationale"...I'm supposed to be writing about another dramatic event. The Winternational, as produced by the International School of Krakow. Megan has a big part in this, on stage the entire time playing the role of the Little Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe.

No, maybe it was more like the annual thrill-seeking event from Spain, "The Running of the Squirrels" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z2_kKAe9y0&NR=1 . Well, okay, maybe not, but it was kind of like that trying to get out of the event, although with fewer crazed sleep-deprived Spaniards.


An action shot of Megan, who did a wonderful job of narrating various fairy tales to her "children" (classmates of Grade 3). Each story was followed by a production meant to evoke a fairy tale or story from the many countries represented in the school. Yes, this may be the only role from which ones performed seated since "The Man Who Came to Dinner", but nonetheless, Megan had a lot of responsibility to hold the 1.5 hour show together, while the teachers (cat wranglers) herded the younger students on and off stage. Megan had her first experience with a headset microphone and was very cool and composed. Below are some other images from the cat roundup.

It was a great time and some very cute numbers were put on by the kids from Pre-K to Grade 3. The teachers put a lot of effort into it and the event was well attended as even the most jaded Euro-parent knows that missing a child's production can result in getting called before the International Criminal Court in the Hague.
