One of the things we did the last time we lived in NoVa was visit Cox Farms during their Fall Festival. It seems to be a NoVa tradition.
Megan remembered how much fun it was and was eager to try it again so we headed off yesterday...bringing along one of her friends she hadn't had a chance to visit with much since our arrival. Brilliant move on our part because then we didn't have to do more than keep tabs on where they were and offer occasional infusions of beverages and snacks while they tore around like crazy.
Going on a hayride!
Megan and Shams
Scary (ahem) space alien
Gnomes
Megan tearing down one of the slides
A corn maze which wasn't actually a maze but a stroll through corn?
They probably didn't want to have to deal with kids who got lost and couldn't get out...
As I was standing checking out the goats a man came up behind me saying to his son, "Wow, look at the sheep." Erm, they don't look like any sheep I've ever seen and the sign actually says GOATS on it. Gesh, suburbanites.
After several hours of crowds we wanted to avoid this as much as a zombie horde...
A few more slides...
And a visit to the goat village (where the goats are docile and so over-fed that they don't want to eat that goat food you just shelled out $1 for!)
Then some panning for gold (such a deal -- $6 for a 3 lb. bag of sand with treasures in it.)
Then we were ready to pick out our own baby pumpkin (included in your ticket)
And admire the other pumpkins on our way back to the car.
A successful outing!
