Last weekend we took an overnight trip down to the Pieniny Mountains.
The main reason was to raft on the Dunajec River but first we stopped at Niedzica Castle.
I really liked the different shapes on the roof. So you get to see several shots of the roof!
Megan
Yes, a rare photo of me!
The reservoir, Czorsztyn Lake.
The dam and Czorsztyn Lake
Then it was on to the rafting portion of the trip on the Dunajec River.
This is my kind of rafting...no white water. No helmets. Someone else does the work.
We just had to sit and look.
The area where the rafts are assembled after being trucked back from the ending point.
Off for a smoking break!
You wait until your raft number is called...
And you wait while others clamber into their rafts...
And you wait while they sail away...
Then the first group of you go...
Then you take photos of an empty raft which is basically 5 canoes lashed together.
The evergreens in front help deflect splashing.
Here's how they lash the canoes together.
Then you are off!
My view starting out.
The Slovak side of the river. They have rafting trips also.
This is as wild and wooly as it gets.
Lovely.
