We had been trying to get to the Kirkaldy Testing Museum for months...Megan was sick then the Museum was closed for 2 Sundays due to ceiling repair work. We finally got lucky this weekend.
The Museum is gloriously quirky...completely run by volunteers who completely geek out over the machines.
We had so much fun.
The big machine
Remnant of wrought iron to be tested
Hammering the metal into place for testing
And more hammering
Then it is uneventful as you watch and wait...after a bit rust starts flaking off the metal and then, SNAP, the metal breaks.
After testing binding material on one of the smaller machines
