Starting in 1958, there has been a competition in Lipnica Murowana on Palm Sunday for the 'best' palm.
They are judged on size and decoration. There are separate contests for the children.

There is music, dance performances, speeches and then mass.
After the speeches, headed to St. Andrews for mass and the blessing of the palms.

The whole atmosphere is very festive, families come for the whole day and there is a market.
I have not seen this much meat on a grill since we lived in Uruguay.
